You may want to consider Wauconda's elevation when planning which car show to attend. At just about 4000 feet, you'll have to decide whether you want to spend a hot summer day sweltering in some parking lot or enjoying our cool mountain breeze.
The history of the Wauconda Community Hall dates back to 1914, when a local school teacher decided to put on an event to celebrate Flag Day. Although it was well attended the event was rained out to the point that everyone had to take shelter in a nearby barn. The same thing happened the next year, and that was when it was decided to build a Community Hall to hold this sort of event and still be protected from the weather. Click Here for the whole story.
Oh, By the way...
that same barn is still standing out behind the Hall today.
With that understanding in mind, we'll try not to play favorites as we show you what our area has to offer visitors such as yourself.
While Okanogan County is the biggest in the state and has loads of events scheduled throughout the summer months, Ferry County offers you a chance to dig for fossils, ride an antique Carousel or tour a museum that was once a hotel that Henry Ford stayed at.
You might want to consider exploring the Okanogan Highlands Historic Loop Drive while you're in the area.
